Rapid Metro

Gurugram’s Rapid Metro was in talks of shutting operations from 9th September. The company, IL&FS which managed the Metro was facing huge losses and had approached the Haryana govt for a takeover.

Finally, on Friday, the National Company Law Tribunal gave its nod to the Haryana Govt to take over the Metro. Monday onwards, it’ll be HUDA’s job to ensure the smooth running of the metro.

Rapid Metro’s footfall is very low. The company saw heavy losses as a result of the same. Out of the 200,000 daily office-goers in Cybercity, only about 15,000 use the rapid metro.
