This option is especially helpful when you have an issue related to e-tickets, cancellations or to know your refund status.
  3. The above options can be used to submit flight, hotel & holiday complaints. For bus complaints, you can call on MMT’s tollfree number- 1800-103-8765. To know your train PNR status, SMS to 139: PNR <10 digit PNR number>.
  4. Make sure you have an existing booking with MakeMyTrip before you choose these options.
  5. Once you get in touch with a customer care executive, elaborate on your matter. Do not miss out on any detail- you never know what may help your case the best! Attach receipts, bills or any official emails, SMSes which are in favour of your case.
  6. After the customer care executive understands your issue and accepts the submission, you will receive an acknowledgement number against your complaint. Your issue should be resolved within 7-10 days.

Who will pay the refund- MakeMyTrip or the service provider?

Hotel, flight, train, bus refunds- all depend on the booking and cancellation policy attached with each reservation you make. As a general rule, MakeMyTrip- being a facilitator of booking is not directly liable to pay refund to the user.

For non-confirmed and unaccepted bookings, MakeMyTrip will refund the booking amount immediately to the user. You will receive your money in the same way you used to pay for a booking.

Flight Refund

Flight refund depends on the airline’s fare rules and cancellation policy. MMT will get the amount from airlines and transfer it to you. The convenience & service fees paid to MMT at the time of booking is a non-refundable. If you cancelled directly with the airline, you have to inform MMT to get a refund. Discount availed on partially used flight tickets is also non-refundable.

Hotel Refund

If a hotel denies check-in, MMT will either provide a similar alternative accommodation (subject to availability) or a refund. If the hotel denied check-in due to its policy, like unmarried couples or local residents may not be allowed to check-in as guests, then MMT will not offer a refund.

Cab Refund

MMT will offer a refund if the cab breaks down or is in an accident. If your cab operator makes an alternate arrangement for you, in this case, you won’t get a refund. However, you will get a proportionate refund for the uncovered distance. If you fail to board the cab, then no refund will be given.

Train Refund

Domestic Tour Refund

The booking fee and service charges for any domestic or outbound tour is non-refundable. If MMT knows in advance that a tour may not take place, it will either provide similar alternative or refund the booking amount as per the service provider’s refund policy. MMT will not refund any money if you miss out on any activity due to your own fault. If the refund is delayed beyond the period specified by MMT, interest will be paid along with refund.

Visa Cancellation Refund

The service fee paid for filing a visa application is non-refundable.  If the service provider doesn’t apply for visa, MMT will give a refund. You won’t get a refund if you’re unable to use your booking due to a cancelled visa. If the visa application gets rejected, you won’t get a refund.

Does MakeMyTrip charge a cancellation fee?

You must know that in any case, if there are applicable cancellation charges, you won’t receive a full refund. MakeMyTrip will deduct cancellation charges before making a refund.

You are advised to read the ‘fine print’ before finalising a booking. The cancellation charges differ from one booking to another. Generally, service charges and convenience fee levied by MakeMyTrip is non-refundable.

Some flight bookings also offer free or zero cancellation fee offers. However, to get a 100% refund you might have to pay an extra hundred bucks. Hence, zero cancellation does not necessarily come for free.

You can avoid paying cancellation fee by buying travel insurance. In case of loss or any other trouble, your insurance will cover cancellation charges along with other non-refundable charges.
